The evergreen shinobu is native to subtropical regions and grows on trees in the jungle.
The leaves stay green all year round, and as long as the temperature is 25 degrees or higher, the leaves will come out all year round. The rhizomes also grow and multiply.
If the temperature is below 15 degrees, they will go into hibernation and will not be very active.
When the temperature reaches 20 degrees or higher, you can view them hanging outdoors.
When the temperature drops below 15 degrees, you can bring it indoors and hang it up, or place it on a plate with sand or something and enjoy the lush leaves and rhizomes.

January Location: Hang indoors or place on a plate to enjoy the lush green leaves.
Watering: If the soil is dry, soak it in water. If the soil is too wet, the roots will rot, so soak the plant in water for 3 to 10 seconds and adjust the moisture level so that the soil dries within 4 to 5 days.
Fertilizer: If the leaf color is pale, dilute Hyponex liquid fertilizer about 2,000 times and apply once every five days until the leaf color improves.
Spraying medicine: If insects appear due to the indoor environment, spray the prescribed amount of Sumithion or other medicine to target the insects and fungi.

February and March: Refer to January for maintenance.

April Location: If the minimum temperature is above 15 degrees, you can hang it outdoors and enjoy it as a Shinobu.
Block out about 70% of the sunlight. Hang it under the branches of a tree where the sunlight filters through, inside a bamboo blind, or in a shady spot, and enjoy. Of course, you can also enjoy it indoors by hanging it in a spot where the sunlight filters through the trees through curtains, or in a bright shade.
Watering: When the soil is dry, soak it in water. It depends on the location, so soak it about once every 3 to 5 days. Soak the soil for 3 to 10 seconds and adjust the moisture level so that the soil dries in 3 to 4 days.
Fertilizer: If you plant about six large grains of Hyponex Magamp (for a 12cm ball), it will be effective for about two years.
Fertilizer will be lacking during active periods such as summer, so if you dilute Hyponex liquid fertilizer by about 1,000 to 2,000 times and apply it once every 10 to 15 days, the leaf color will improve and the plant will grow vigorously.
Applying medicine: If insects, slugs, fungi, mold or moss appear, we will capture the insects, slugs, mold or moss and spray an effective medicine.
For fungi, we spray a medicine that is effective against the fungi.

May Refers to April.

June Location: If the minimum temperature is above 15 degrees, you can hang it outdoors and enjoy it as a Shinobu.
Block out about 70% of the sunlight. Hang and enjoy under the branches of trees where sunlight filters through, inside a bamboo blind, or in a shady spot. Of course, you can also enjoy them indoors by hanging or placing them in a spot where sunlight filters through curtains, or in a bright shade. This is the season for vigorous growth, with new shoots appearing and the rhizomes growing. Remove damaged or unsightly leaves to encourage new shoots to appear, and keep the leaves looking attractive.
Watering: Varies depending on environment, but (based on a 12cm ball size) soak once every 2-3 days.
In summer, soak a little more when it is about 80% dry.
Fertilizer: As this is the active period, Magamp large grains are also planted, but if you dilute Hyponex liquid fertilizer 1000-2000 times and apply it once every 7-15 days, the leaf color will improve and the rhizomes will grow. Since the leaves are significantly thinner than other plants, concentrated liquid fertilizer will severely damage the leaves and rhizomes, so apply it with great care.
Spraying medicine: If insects, slugs, fungi, mold, or moss appear, we will capture them and spray effective medicine. For fungi, we will spray medicine that is effective against the fungi.

July, August, September: Refer to June for maintenance.

October Location: It is best to bring it indoors from late September and enjoy it for a while.
Watering: Adjust the soaking time to about 5 to 10 seconds and leave it to dry within 4 to 5 days.
Fertilizer: September and October are still active, so apply Hyponex liquid fertilizer diluted 2000 times once every 7 to 15 days until the leaf color improves. Pesticide application: If insects, slugs, fungi, mold, or moss appear, capture them and spray an effective pesticide. For fungi, spray a pesticide that is effective against the fungi.

November Placement: Hang it indoors or place it in a dish with sand and enjoy the lush leaves and rhizomes. Place it in a place where the sunlight filters through the curtains or in a bright place.
Watering: Adjust the soaking time to 5 to 10 seconds so that the soil dries by the 4th day.Fertilizer: If the leaf color is poor, dilute Hyponex liquid fertilizer 2,000 times and apply about once every 7 days until the leaf color improves.
Spraying medicine: Even indoors, there are temperatures at which insects and fungi are active, so if they appear, spray Sumithion or other medicines for the insects, and medicines that are effective against fungi for the fungi.

Please refer to December and November for maintenance.

●How to care for Dendrobium nipponicum: It is more resistant to dehydration and cold than Shinobu, so it should be cared for in the same way as Shinobu. Normally, it rarely dies.

●How to care for Phalaenopsis orchids, etc. Phalaenopsis orchids, Sagikusa, Giboshi, etc. usually bloom for about two years after planting, but as they are cared for with priority given to the growth of the bulbs, please be aware that the bulbs may rot if the care or environment is not suitable.

If the herbaceous plant is deprived of water after it sprouts and starts to grow, the leaves will wilt and die, so as soon as the soil in the ball dries, water it immediately to prevent it from wilting.

The butterfly orchid grows best when the soil is slightly dry. After flowering, you can take care of it in the same way as Shinobu. Normally, it will bloom again next year.

Giboshi is a strong plant, so if you give it the same care as Tsurishinobu, it will grow normally.
