◇We will use the amount of seedlings that will allow Shinobu to grow even if you are a beginner.
◇In addition to the ball-shaped Tsuri Shinobu that is approximately 9 to 30 cm in size, we also offer crescent-shaped, basket-shaped, rice bale-shaped and driftwood holder shapes.
◇ It looks great when you plant wildflowers in the Tsuri Shinobu. We will sell both the Tsuri Shinobu and the wind chimes to anyone who is interested.
◇ Classes can be held any time of the year. Since the Shinobu plants do not grow well in the cold season, we can keep them in our greenhouse until they take root.
◇We will provide scissors, pliers, etc. Participants are kindly requested to bring an apron, gloves, and a bag to take things home.
◇The Tsuri Shinobu making class is available for free use by our client.
◇One class: 10-30 participants. Lessons take about 2 hours. Preparation and cleanup for the seminar and mini exhibition will require about an hour before and after.
◇Depending on various circumstances, we will charge approximately 20,000 yen for instructor fees, transportation costs, etc.
If you have any questions or requests, please contact us by email, fax or phone. We will respond to you.
For those who run gardening classes, we can provide a complete set of materials for making Shinobu. We can also send just the Shinobu seedlings, so please send us an email, fax or phone call and we will respond.
 ■ On the third Sunday of every month, we will be holding a Tsuri Shinobu Making Workshop at our nursery, with only the cost of materials required.

★The traditional craft plant "Tsurishinobu" has been handed down since the Edo period and is a symbol of summer, having been sung about in haiku by Kobayashi Issa and depicted in paintings by Utagawa Hiroshige.
Sixty years ago, around 30 farms produced Shinobu, but now there are only two left in the entire country.
Feeling a sense of crisis that this unique and cute "Tsurishinobu" may disappear if things continue as they are, and with the desire to allow the general public to cherish and grow the tsurishinobu they grow themselves, enjoy the gentle swaying of their leaves in the height of summer for five or ten years, and enjoy the cool feeling and charm that comes with it, our garden is not only focusing on producing tsurishinobu, but also on holding "Tsurishinobu-making workshops."
It has been more than 25 years since we began conducting on-site Tsuri Shinobu making workshops upon request.
We hold these classes once a year at organizations such as the NHK Culture Center, JA, Green Consultation Center, and various local neighborhood associations and senior citizens' groups, and some of these have been holding the classes for over 15 years, so they are very popular.
With over 50 years of experience making Tsuri Shinobu, we have acquired knowledge and techniques through many failures, so we can handle most anything when it comes to Shinobu.
In the workshop, you will create your desired shape from soil, plant seedlings, wrap a palm rope around it to give it a folk art feel, and then complete it so that it can be hung. You can also plant mountain orchids or hang wind chimes as you like.
You can choose from two types of Shinobu seedlings: Japanese (deciduous) and tropical (evergreen). The Japanese varieties are suitable for outdoor use, producing lush green leaves in spring and summer, turning yellow and losing their leaves in autumn and winter, and then producing new leaves the following spring. The evergreen varieties can be enjoyed indoors all year round with their lush green leaves. In summer, they can also be enjoyed outdoors as hanging Shinobu. Both types of Shinobu seedlings are grown in greenhouses for 5 to 6 years, and are robust seedlings that have been exposed to the fullest extent of temperatures from -5 degrees Celsius (+7 degrees for the evergreen variety) to 40 degrees Celsius, lack of water, and sunlight. We use seedlings that take root well.
Making Tsuri Shinobu involves some difficult steps, but everyone is absorbed in making them. Some time after the workshop, we receive emails and postcards from the children telling us that the leaves have sprouted, and we share their joy. We will use our ingenuity and sincerity to ensure that those who experience making Tsuri Shinobu have had fun and can feel the joy of growing Shinobu every day.
We would be grateful if you could include us in the courses and events you plan.
 ★Request★
We have received many requests from people living far away to hold Shinobu-making workshops on-site.
We would really like to make this happen, so we apologize for asking you to go out of your way to help us.
We ask that each seminar be attended by at least 20 participants and held at least two times.
Generally, the sessions will be held in the same location, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
If the second session on the same day is held elsewhere, this is possible starting around 5pm.
You will need about five hours of free time for cleaning up and preparing for the mini exhibition, etc.
Alternatively, we will travel to your desired location the following day and hold the training session.
We will ask you to cover the following costs: highway tolls, gasoline, accommodation, and instructor's fee (10,000 yen per session).
Conditions vary by region, so please feel free to contact us for further details.
